The Christmas Tag 2018

Hello and Welcome!

Yes we are at it again with another tag post. I recently did an Autumn version but was also tagged in this Christmas one. It’s taken me a little while to get around to writing this post since my blog is pretty chocked full of planned posts at the moment that I’m desperately trying to finish. However, I love Christmas and I enjoy doing these tags so here we go!

I was tagged by the lovely Nicole Eloise, I recommend that you go follow her blog, she’s a beauty blogger but also writes about mental health. Also you can check out her answers to this tag here

Let’s jump straight into the tag questions!

1. Do you prefer giving or receiving gifts?

To be honest, both. However, I do think that I like giving gifts more. I always buy far too much at Christmas because I just want everyone to be happy and get as many things that they like as possible. I buy for Christmas all through the year. I just want to make people happy and I love when people open a present and you can see they love it. I do also like receiving gifts though, of course.

2. Do you make and stick to New Year’s Resolutions?

I never even used to bother making them because I thought I wouldn’t stick to then. Last year I was not in a good place and I decided to make a whole list of goals for what I wanted to accomplish by the end of the year, to give myself a target to keep going and work for everything. I’ve changed so much this year and I think it’s partially because of those goals giving me something to keep moving forward with. So I guess yes, I do now.

3. Have you ever made a snowman?

Of course! It’s always surprisingly difficult though and looks terrible. I think when I make one again I’ll make a small one rather than trying to go all out.

4. Is your Christmas tree real or fake, and what theme do you prefer?

Fake! We’ve had it for what feels like 6,000 years. My boyfriend’s family get a real tree and I think I prefer the fake one to be honest since a real one sheds and I kept getting stabbed when decorating it! In terms of a theme we tend to go for a mix of red, gold, and silver. Keeping it classic really.

5. Most memorable holiday moment?

I really have absolutely no idea I always enjoy Christmas!

6. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?

I watch Elf every year, which I’ve already done this year so I guess that doesn’t count as looking forward to – but I do always look forward to it! Since this is the first Christmas with my boyfriend I’m excited to get involved with his family’s traditions.

7. What is the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?

These questions are really difficult for me to answer for some reason. I tend to ask for a fair amount of my presents so they’re always good presents to me!

However, one gift stands out to me as the best present because it wasn’t great. You know, those presents where you’re like wow this is really quite something. My grandparents gave both my brother and I children’s beach towels where you put your head through the towel like a poncho. I can’t remember what mine was but my brother’s was an astronaut (where his head would be the astronaut’s head poking out of the beach towel). The thing was that these were for young children and we were teenagers. By far the best gift ever, we talk about it all the time and I can’t wait to open my grandparents presents each year (nothing has topped that though).

8. What are your favourite holiday foods?

Cheese! This isn’t just a holiday food if I’m honest but there are always so many amazing cheeses around at Christmas.

9. What is your favourite holiday film?

Elf definitely, in case you couldn’t tell by my watching of it every year!

10. What is your favourite Christmas song?

Mariah Carey – All I Want for Christmas is You

What a banger.

11. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

Everyone being together and exchanging gifts and (usually) being happy. I just find it’s a really nice time and people are generally in better moods.I also always see my extended family on Boxing Day. So really it’s just a family time for me and I enjoy it.

12. What would be your dream place to visit at Christmas time?

For some reason my first thought was Iceland? I think seeing the Northern Lights at Christmas time would be magical and I really want to go to the Blue Lagoon. I just think it would be a really beautiful, peaceful place to go whilst still feeling festive.

13. Who do you spend Christmas with?

Typically it’s my mum and my two brothers for most of the day then my youngest brother goes to his dad’s around 3 and my eldest brother goes back home. However, this year I’ll be splitting the day and spending the second half with my boyfriend and his family.

14. When do you start getting excited about Christmas?

January 1st? I’m just kidding (mostly). I actually do some Christmas shopping in the January sales though so I’m not sure how much I’m kidding. I tend to actually start getting excited for Christmas around September time since that’s when it starts getting colder and feeling more Christmassy (of course, I don’t skip out on Halloween excitement though).

15. You have one Christmas wish – what will it be?

A lot of money. I know that sounds shallow but I’m had a lot of money issues this year and honestly it would reduce the stress I have massively if I wasn’t so broke. I could also give some money to my mum and I know that would hugely help her too.

Right so that’s the end of this post. I usually take ages trying to work out who to tag but I think this time I’m just going for a different tactic this time. Whoever you are reading this, if you have a blog then I challenge you to do the tag! Also be sure to tag me in your post so I can see your responses.

If you enjoyed reading this, then as always, please leave a like! Also, make sure you follow my blog if you aren’t already, I post at least twice a week and focus on cruelty free beauty and lifestyle posts. Also, again please check out Nicole who tagged me in this post.
