Hello and Welcome!
As I said in my last post, I’m super busy at the moment so I’m really sorry if I’m not posting twice a week – I was super organised but my brain decided that my life just wasn’t busy enough as it is so added something extra in. I’m hoping to post twice this week but I’m not going to put huge amounts of pressure on myself to do so.
Anyway, today’s post is going to be more of a lifestyle post as I’ll be reviewing a tote bag and some cards by a brand called Illustration by Abi. I found her through Press Loft and applied for this collaboration, therefore these products have been sent to me for free to review.
I received the following products from Abi:
- ‘Labrador Retriever Greeting Card’ – £2.50
- ‘City Dogs Card’ – £2.50
- ‘Birthday Dogs Card’ – £2.50
- ‘Cat Tote Bag’ – £12.00
Although there are three different cards, I’ll be reviewing them all together since I have similar thoughts on all of them and they are the same type of product.
Before we get into the review, however, I’ll include some information about who Illustration by Abi is.
Who is ‘Illustration by Abi’?
On her website, it states:
‘I am an illustrator, artist and product designer from Ashtead in Surrey. I spend all day in my studio getting messy with dip pens and ink drawing lots and lots of dogs (and a few cats!) and I have turned them into quirky designs for a range of stationery, homewares & gifts.’
As well as cards and tote bags, Abi also sells: notebooks, prints, wrapping paper, coasters, placemats, notecards, tea towels, and mugs (she will soon introduce chopping boards, oven gloves, and aprons).
She also has the option to have a portrait done of your pet, or illustrations of your pet in action/images of your houses or businesses (see the link for examples). As well as this she can design artwork for businesses.
Above shows the different cards I was sent.
My first thought with these is how professionally packaged they are. I love that they come with a sticker in the top right with the brand information. On the back the brand name is also printed onto the card along with the website.
The quality of the prints is amazing and they look so cute! I love the style of the illustrations and the ways that the dogs are characterised throughout the drawings (especially in the ‘Happy Birthday’ one). The colours are really vibrant and beautiful and I just love all of them.
The pictures you see on her website are 100% how they look in person. You can hardly tell that they’re prints because they’re such good quality – the paper is also amazing quality.
Overall, I think these cards are fantastic and they’re definitely worth £2.50. I know quite a few people who would enjoy these and I can’t wait to give them to people for their birthdays (although I like that some of these are versatile and could be used for many different occasions).

A tote bag was actually one thing that I requested from the collaboration (I secretly hoped for the cats one but I didn’t specify in my request) and I was so excited to get it.
The bag comes tied up with string and has a removable tag attached to the handle with the brand information, as well as a label on the front with the brand name on. These were two touches that I wasn’t expecting and was pleasantly surprised by (I always like the little things)!
Again I love the style of the illustrations, I think they’re really quirky and cute and I enjoy all the different types of cats and their positions – I think the design of the bag is really cool.
The quality of the product is, again, fantastic. The handles are really secure and I’ve taken this shopping a bunch of times and it’s always comfortable to carry.
The only things I would say is that it is a tiny bit see through so I probably wouldn’t use this if I was planning on purchasing gifts and there was a chance the person would see it through the bag. Additionally, since it is white it’s going to get stained. Whilst I do like the fact that it’s white, and I think making it another colour and still having the cats stand out would be hard, I’m terrified of ruining it.
Overall though, it’s a great bag and I’m going to get a huge amount of use out of it. I think having fabric bags is really important to minimise the amount of plastic you’re buying and using, so I’d highly recommend picking one of these up either for yourself or as a gift for someone else. I can tell by the quality of it that it’s going to last a very long time, so £12.00 is a perfectly fair price in my opinion.
She sells this bag in either this cat form, or with dogs instead, so whether you’re a cat person or a dog person (or both, like me), there’s a choice for you. If you’d like to grab either of these bags hen you can do so on Abi’s website here.
Overall, I am extremely happy with all of the products from Illustration by Abi and would highly recommend checking her out if you like the style of her artwork (her pet illustrations are also incredible and I’m considering getting one done). I really enjoy reviewing products from small businesses and this is no exception. It’s hard to describe just how good the quality of Abi’s products are but I’d definitely look to her for cards. I’ve definitely paid more than she’s charging for cards that are worse quality! Although I’ve only tried a few of her products, I’d imagine that the rest are equally as fantastic.

This now brings us to the end of this review on some products by Illustration by Abi – I really hope you enjoyed reading! If you did then please leave a quick like. Additionally, make sure you follow my blog if you aren’t doing so already.
