Hello and Welcome!
Today’s post is going to be another tag. I haven’t actually been tagged for ages now so I was excited to get one again from the lovely Nicole Eloise. I’m especially excited about this tag because I love autumn, so much so that my cat is called Autumn!
I’m going to jump straight in and start writing my answers to the 11 questions in the tag, before tagging a few bloggers who I’d like to participate in the tag too.
1) What signifies the start of Autumn to you?
Definitely the leaves turning that beautiful orange/yellow colour and starting to fall. I feel like there’s nothing that represents Autumn more than that! That moment when you’re out walking and the leaves under your feet are crunching is one of my favourite feelings.
I think also it getting colder, that moment where you realise you’re going to have to start breaking our your jumpers, scarves, and thicker coats.
2) Best way to spend a rainy day?
Netflix! Or just any movie/series really. Anything that involves being super cosy inside, probably in bed, watching something. I love a good series binge and there’s no better time to do that than when it’s cold and rainy outside. Of course this would be with my boyfriend. There’s nothing better than being cuddled whilst watching something nice at home. Also I love candles, so probably with some candles burning too!
3) Your favourite Autumn memory?
I’m not too sure about this one to be honest. Anything that involves being wrapped up whilst walking outside in the leaves with someone (or with my dog) – as long as it isn’t raining!
4) Favourite fall scent?
I don’t tend to put seasons to scents (apart from around Christmas maybe), and Autumn seems to be ending already so it’s difficult to work out which scents I associate with Autumn and which with Winter.
However, probably anything pumpkin or pumpkin spiced since pumpkin spiced lattes tend to make an appearance at the beginning of Autumn. I also love anything that’s sweet scented, for example with vanilla. It’s hard to pick a favourite though! I tend to like scents all year round.
5) What are you most excited about this Autumn?
I was probably most excited, as I always am, about Halloween. Unfortunately that didn’t go entirely to plan as, just before driving to my boyfriend’s house, I got a call saying that he had spiked a temperature and had to go to hospital. So I ended up chasing an ambulance down the street, then spending 4+ hours waiting in the emergency department for him to get a bed on a ward.
However, I also enjoy the smaller things like just walking my dog through all of the Autumn leaves.
6) Favourite Autumn song?
Again this is a really difficult one as I don’t associate songs with a time of year.
Since I love Halloween and that falls into Autumn, can I say The Time Warp?
7) Favourite Autumn film?
As with the previous question, I’m not sure about this one! I actually just Googled ‘Autumn movies’ but nothing jumped out at me so, keeping with the theme of the previous question, The Rocky Horror Picture Show?
8) What TV shows are you looking forward to this fall?
Oh gosh how long have we got for me to answer this question! Probably:
- The Great British Bake Off (now over but technically still in Autumn)
- How to Get Away With Murder (I haven’t started watching the new season yet though)
- Strictly Come Dancing
- The Apprentice
- The Walking Dead
- Doctor Who
- American Horror Story
- Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (again I haven’t started this yet)
I think that’s it but honestly I could have missed some. Autumn is the best time for TV shows!
9) Favourite Autumn colour?
MUSTARD! I love love love wearing mustard jumpers all year round but especially in Autumn. I also love burnt oranges, and reds.
Whilst these are my favourite colours in Autumn, I also like to mix things up and wear some brighter colours which you’d expect more in other seasons.
10) Favourite fall fashion trend?
Oversized jumpers with tight bottoms. I adore an oversized jumper (buy them from the men’s section, people, it’s cheaper and they’re better quality) it’s a great way to stay cosy.
I also like layering, I think it can look really nice and, more importantly, it keeps you warm. A scarf that’s basically a blanket is one of my favourite things!
11) Your most loved outdoor Autumn activity?
This kind of ties in with both question 2 and question 5. During Autumn I like both being outside and being inside. I like going outside in this season because it isn’t too cold and isn’t too hot. You only need a couple of layers to feel warm, unlike in winter where it feels like no matter what you will never be warm again. It’s also usually quite bright and doesn’t rain quite as much as it does in Autumn.
However, equally, I enjoy being cosy inside watching one of the many TV shows I have on the go at the moment.
