Hello and Welcome!
As I mentioned in my previous post, today’s review is about some jewellery. More specifically, it’s about a necklace from a brand called Statement Made Jewellery.
I was fortunate enough to have this product sent to me by the brand, after I reached out to them on Twitter.
For any blogger who isn’t getting many collaborative opportunities, I recommend checking #PRrequest, #bloggersrequired, and #bloggerswanted on Twitter. That is where I find a lot of my opportunities. It’s extremely rare that a brand reaches out to me specifically, so I tend to go to them and it’s been working out pretty well!
As I said, I saw a tweet from the brand looking for bloggers, and decided to reach out to them. We spoke over Twitter DM and they offered to send me a necklace, as a surprise. They asked what initial and birthstone I would like. I specified that I only wear silver jewellery because of my skintone, and let them know that my initial is ‘C’ and my birthstone is Garnet, because my birthday is January 13.
Personally I really don’t like garnets, I just don’t think they’re a particularly nice stone to look at. I find they’re a kind of dirty red colour, I wish I had basically any other birthstone!
They explained that they would get a necklace made up and sent out to me.
Unlike other brand collaborations, I had no idea what was coming. Usually brands either tell you what they’re sending you, or let you pick what you want. I thought it was cool and exciting that Statement Made Jewellery decided to send bloggers a surprise item (although a little risky).
What I received
I received this lovely rose gold rose (looks weird to type that), with my birthstone on it.
I believe that this is their ‘Rose Gold Rose and Initial Necklace‘ that retails for £12.90. I couldn’t actually find one that came with a birthstone instead of an initial, however they do have an option to add one on so you could get this with both your initial and birthstone.
The main downside I have to what I received is that I’m actually not sure what I received. There was no card or information in the package that told me what product it is, and I’ve searched high and low on their website but I couldn’t find it. I also did send them a DM on Twitter asking if the product was gold, or rose gold, and for a direct link to the item but they didn’t reply. I strongly believe that it is rose gold, but I honestly could be wrong.
As you can see from the photo above, the product comes in a little pink draw string bag and comes with a card of authenticity.
I do think the packaging is quite cute, the little bag is useful for storing the necklace when you aren’t wearing it and I think the colour of the bag would make it easy to find, but pink isn’t usually a colour I would choose.
The certificate of authenticity is a nice touch and I appreciate when brands send little cards like this with the product. I think it adds an extra something, and makes you feel more valued as a customer.
Final Thoughts & Review
I do think the design of this product is cute, however unfortunately it isn’t something that is in my personal style. I tend to prefer smaller daintier pendants (this one is 4cm). Additionally, I did explain prior to the necklace being sent that I only wear silver jewellery. I have a cool undertone to my skin so silver suits me best and I find that gold, or rose gold, looks a bit off on me.
Whilst this necklace isn’t personally something that I would wear, if it is something that you like the look of then I’d definitely recommend it. Although the pendant is quite large, it isn’t super heavy so wouldn’t be uncomfortable to wear for an extended period of time. I think the addition of your birthstone, or initial, or both, is really nice and adds to the necklace.
I also think the price of £12.90 is really affordable and definitely worth it!
If, like me, this necklace isn’t in your style then Statement Made Jewellery have so many incredible different designs that you can choose from. Personally I would go for a personalised silver charm necklace (specifically the elephant one), or I adore their personalised Zodiac and constellation necklaces, or even one of their sterling silver necklaces. However if you like rose gold necklaces then they have so many to choose from, and the same goes for gold necklaces.
Statement Made Jewellery also sell bracelets, anklets, engraved jewellery, and earrings. So be sure to fully explore their website. All of their prices are fantastic and they have so many beautiful designs to choose from. Also if you sign up for their mailing list then you can get 20% off of your first order, making their items even more affordable!
It’s a shame that this specific necklace isn’t my style. However, I really appreciate that the company took a risk and did something different in sending out a surprise product and I’m still grateful that they chose to send me this.
