Nip + Fab ‘Dragon’s Blood Fix Daily Cleansing Pads’ Review

Hello and Welcome!

I hope you’ve had a great week so far and are ready for February – is it just me or did January seem to last about 6 months?

Today I’m going back to my normal posts and will be doing a beauty review! However, it is a little different in that it’s the first product I’ve ever reviewed from Nip + Fab.

A little while ago now, I popped into a TK Maxx that I’d never been to before (it was relatively new) and was met with SO MANY GOOD DEALS. They had loads of Nip + Fab products, and a bunch of Stila. Naturally, I was very very excited and ran around collecting up as much as I could carry.

One of the items was the Nip + Fab ‘Dragon’s Blood Fix Daily Cleansing Pads’ that I’ll be reviewing today. These pads retail for £10.49 for 60 pads, and I bought them in TK Maxx for £3.99!

Packaging

As you can see, the pads come in a plastic tub, with the product and brand name on the lid. This information is also on the side of the pot, along with the ingredients and directions for use. All of the Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood range comes in redish orange packaging, making it easy to distinguish between this range and other ranges from the brand.

Personally I really like this packaging. It’s sturdy and keeps the pads safe. As the lid screws on and off, the pads don’t dry out. I also think that the tub is a size that would be okay for travelling without taking up too much space – plus it means you wouldn’t have to bring a cleanser and cotton pads.

Claims

On the Boots website, the product has the following description:

‘Wipe away the day with these gentle cleansing pads enriched with salicylic + hyaluronic acids to deeply cleanse pores + provide long-lasting hydration for skin that appears plumper.

Witch hazel helps reduce the appearance of imperfections leaving the complexion looking smoother + refreshed.’

Thoughts

I’ve been using one of these pads every day since I got them and honestly I think they’re incredible. I have super dry skin and I’ve been having to use very minimal moisturiser since I’ve added these into my skincare routine. When I say ‘routine’, currently I’m just removing my makeup with a makeup wipe, using one of these pads, following it up with the Pixi ‘Glow Tonic’ (review for that here), then using some Eyewake ‘Hydrating Eye Serum’ (review coming soon). My skincare routine used to involve a lot more than just three products but it meant that if I was feeling lazy, I wouldn’t do it, and to be honest the results from these three products is enough without the need of additional products.

When I first used this product I wrote down that I absolutely hated the smell, but honestly it’s kind of grown on me, they just smell kind of fresh. Luckily, even if you don’t like the smell, once you’ve used the pad, you can’t really smell it on your skin.

The product removes any dirt on your face, absorbs nicely into the skin, and leaves your face feeling super smooth afterwards. Personally, I can’t really comment on the cleaning of pores or reduce in imperfections as I haven’t seen a noticeable difference. I did find that I broke out quite a lot when I first started using these pads, however I can’t tell whether this was due to stress and hormones, since I was pretty stressed when this happened. If I continue to notice breakouts when using these then I’ll write an update, however I do usually get some breakouts. Also the breakouts have gone now, and I haven’t noticed any more, so I don’t think it was due to these pads.

Overall, I absolutely love this product. The pads being soaked in the product make them really easy and convenient to use. I do think the retail price of these is pretty fair, £9.95 for 60 pads would work out at roughly 16p per pad. The directions do say to use once in the morning and once in the evening – meaning the pads would last you 30 days. However, I’ve only been using them in the evening and have found that they still work extremely well. So potentially one pot could last you two months. I love these so much that I’ve actually ordered two more tubs of them (we have my drunk self to thank for that).

If you’d like to purchase these then you can do so on the Boots website here, the Superdrug website here, or from Nip + Fab. Alternatively, keep your eyes on your local TK Maxx (or their website) to see if you can get them even cheaper.

This brings us to the end of this review on the Nip + Fab ‘Dragon’s Blood Fix Daily Cleansing Pads’, I really hope that you enjoyed it. If you did then be sure to leave me a quick like below, I would appreciate it! Also if you think that my blog is something that you might like to read in the future then please give me a follow to ensure you keep up to date with when I’m posting – I post twice a week!
