Pixi ‘Best of Bright’ Review

Hello and Welcome!

I hope you’re as excited as I am for another review!

I’ve seen products from Pixi featured on other people’s blogs and all over Instagram, but I’ve never got around to trying out any of their products. As Christmas is always the time when brands bring out gift sets with multiple products from their range, I thought it was the perfect time to get some goodies from Pixi to test out. My brother bought me this ‘Best of Bright’ gift set for Christmas.

The set contains:

  • ‘Glow Mud Cleanser’
  • ‘Glow Tonic’
  • ‘Glow Mud Mask’

All of these are minis, which is perfect for me to try them out and see if I like them, without having to buy and use an entire full-sized product. Like with the Stila gift set (review for that here), I was surprised by how small the products in this set were – but as I said in the Stila review, I don’t tend to look at the descriptions online at the sizes, so it is my own fault. Nevertheless, I was still excited to try out my first Pixi products!

As you can see from the above photo, the set comes in a pink box with what looks like rose gold pine cones printed on. The three products are held in plastic in the box above the name of the product on the box.

Whilst it isn’t the greatest packaging I’ve ever had, I do think that it’s cute. I like the pink and rose gold. However, I can’t say that it’s particularly special or packaging that I kept. I also found that the outer packaging was much bigger than the products inside.

‘Glow Mud Cleanser’

On the Pixi Beauty website this product is described with the following bulletpoints:

  • ‘A deep pore cleansing mud, enriched with 5% glycolic and soothing botanicals
  • Formulated to provide effective cleansing, yet is mild enough for all skin
  • Complexion is cleansed and gently exfoliated to reveal radiant and healthy skin
  • Deep pore cleansing leaving skin clean and glowing
  • Gently exfoliates and revitalizes
  • Mud deep cleanses
  • Glycolic acid enhances complexion’s glow’

The instructions for this product are relatively simple, it just details to massage a small amount into damp skin for 30 seconds before rinsing off.

To be completely honest, I haven’t really been reaching for this product. I’ve tried it a couple of times but I don’t find myself gravitating towards it. There’s nothing wrong with the product, it makes my skin feel clean and soft. It’s just that I only cleanse at night and I’m honestly too lazy to use a product that needs applying to damp skin and rinsing off. The cleanser I was using previously didn’t need to be rinsed off.

I do think that this product is good and it gives the results that it states it would, however personally I’d just prefer if I didn’t have to rise it off.

‘Glow Tonic’

This product on the Pixi Beauty website is described with the following:

  • ‘Formulated with 5% Glycolic Acid
  • Exfoliates, brightens and smoothes skin
  • Aloe vera, ginseng and botanical extracts work together to nourish and treat
  • Instant glow inhancer
  • Alcohol free’

This product states to apply after cleansing by saturating a cotton pad and sweep across the face and neck.

I much prefer this product over the cleanser, simply because I don’t have to wash it back off. I’ve found myself using this product much more than the cleanser. I find that it makes my skin really soft and it definitely does give a nice healthy glow to the skin.

I definitely think I will buy this product in the full-sized version when I run out of this smaller one as I do really like it – I just need to find a cleanser that doesn’t need rinsing off to use with it.

‘Glow Mud Mask’

The description for this product on the Pixi Beauty website is as follows:

‘Stimulate, clarify, and brighten skin with this revitalizing mask. The mineral-rich treatment absorbs oil, draws out impurities, and fights breakouts while giving an energizing boost to the complexion. Kaolin & sea salt purify while ginseng & aloe vera balance.’

The instructions for this product are to apply a thin, even, layer and leave on the skin for 15 minutes before rinsing it off and patting the skin dry. It details to use this mask 2 or 3 times a week.

This is the product out of the set that I’ve been using the most and honestly I love it. I’ve found myself reaching for it a lot and I think its an amazing mask. I find something strangely satisfying about mud masks. This one dries down quite quickly (but not so quickly that you struggle to apply it) and I find that it really dries into every pore. When I wash it off my skin looks really bright, and even, it feels really soft, and my pores are a lot smaller than they were before.

I would highly recommend this product and I definitely be buying the full-sized version.

Final Thoughts

I’m really glad that I asked for this set because I’ve definitely found some products that I love and will use in the future. Additionally, it’s given me an insight into Pixi Beauty and I’ll be checking out some of their other products. If you are unsure whether you would like a product, or products, then I really recommend purchasing a gift set like this. I like them as they help you to get a feel for what you like, and usually they’re really good value for money. This Pixi set is no exception. Pixi do a lot of small sets of multiple products that you can find here. Additionally, this ‘Best of Bright’ set is still available on their website, if you’d like to give that a go then you can purchase it here.

This brings us to the end of this review on the Pixi ‘Best of Bright’ gift set, I really hope that you enjoyed reading it! If you did then please give it a quick like, I would really appreciate it. Additionally, leave a comment if you’ve tried some Pixi products and let me know what you like so I can give it a try. Finally, if you think that my blog contains content that you’d like to read in the future then please subscribe if you aren’t already.
